Cranko Karp provides efficient conveyancing services that simplify the process of buying or selling property in the South African market. Our Property and Real Estate Department is headed by Paul Carbonari, a partner at Cranko Karp, who has been with the firm since 2003 and who is supported by senior conveyancing secretaries. Paul’s diverse client portfolio includes professional football clubs, residential property developers, banks, retail businesses, transport businesses, trade unions, gaming entities, direct selling businesses and telecommunication businesses.

BUYING PROPERTY IN SOUTH AFRICA

For the buyer, our Conveyancing Department will assist with the preparation, clarification and lodging of legal documents with the Deeds Office. The conveyancing attorney is also responsible for putting the deposit in a trust account and calculating the adjustment of rates and taxes. In addition, the conveyancer coordinates the conveyancing process with other parties involved, for example advising councils and other authorities of the transfer of ownership details.

SELLING PROPERTY IN SOUTH AFRICA

If you are selling a property, you also need legal representation to make sure you comply with certain legal obligations. The conveyancer has to put together the Contract of Sale and negotiate the terms of the contract with the buyer.
